WHEN DOES IT TAKE PLACE?

The Art of Engagement FREE 4 day challenge starts on Monday 13th of September ends on Thursday 16th of September 2021.
I’m really excited about this challenge – it’s brand new and I’m sharing lots of tips and ideas to help you to engage with your audience.

WHO IS THIS CHALLENGE FOR?

This challenge is suitable for anyone designing experiences with audiences around art and objects e.g. museum or heritage educators, guides and docents, freelancers, creatives and learning practitioners, art educators and teachers and more.

WHY TAKE THIS CHALLENGE?

You may be struggling with designing and leading discussions around art and museum objects? Or maybe you want to increase engagement levels on your guided tours, educational programmes and gallery talks.

Perhaps you’re looking for more ways to connect with your audience? Or to ensure all participants feel visible, valued and understood?
I know that sometimes it’s hard to get started with leading discussions around and objects. It’s sometimes easier to stick with our traditional ways of doing things. Moving to a new way of working is hard work. But it will pay dividends. You will find your audiences are more tuned in, eager to participate and you will never find yourself in the same place at the same time saying the same thing. Leading an engaging discussion around an artwork or an object is an ART FORM but I will be showing you how to get started.
Maybe you’ve already tried to introduce some discussions and interaction in your programmes but it’s falling a bit flat. You’re not sure how to phrase your questions or how to get the most out of the group. You’re not sure what you should be doing when.
If so, don’t worry, we’ve all been there (including me!).

So, if any of this sound familiar, then join me for this FREE 4 day challenge next week.

HOW WILL IT WORK?

On Monday through to Thursday morning next week, I’ll be sharing 4 principles that are key 🔑 for creating engagement and connection when you’re designing and leading art discussions.

Every day I will email you details of a simple, short activity that will take you around 10 minutes to complete.
The exercises are designed to help you think carefully about how you design and lead engaging discussions around art and objects.
These activities will also be posted in our private Facebook group where we can chat, reflect and learn together. The Facebook group will open on Saturday 11th September.

On Thursday 16th September we will round off the challenge with a LIVE 40 minute art engagement class on Zoom at 17.00 hrs (CET – Amsterdam). All sign ups for the challenge will be emailed the Zoom details for this class. So, you do need to be signed up to take part.

FINAL THOUGHTS

An important part of any goal is to break it down into smaller steps. Most people wouldn’t run a marathon without breaking it down into a training plan, right?
And yet when it comes to goal-setting we tend to think in terms of big, hairy, audacious goals.
However, these often get abandoned because they can seem too huge. The best way to approach a big goal is to break it down into smaller steps. And this is why I’m running a 4 day challenge breaking down how to design and lead engaging discussions with art and objects into 4 key principles.
Our live session on Thursday 16th September will a celebration of completing the challenge and will celebrate how doing something small every day helps you to make your goals more manageable 😀  Taking part in this challenge will help you to make real progress on your journey to designing and leading engaging discussions around art and objects.
Please spread the word far and wide as I’ll be sharing lots of free tips and advice over the 4 days
