We booked a three hour combined tour of the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum. Family of four with two daughters 17 and 12. Learned so much about 17th century Dutch art, taking time to really look at and appreciate pieces I might have just glanced at on my own. I recall in particular an incredibly detailed winter scene. I can’t imagine a better introduction to The Night Watch, contrasting the more traditional posed pictures with Rembrandt’s depiction. The Van Gogh tour was wonderful as well. My youngest spent the evening after studying the contrasting theories of his demise on the Internet, and I think came away with a sense of history as dynamic and unsettled — interesting not boring. Highly recommended.
