A great insight into the Rijksmuseum treasures with a wonderful guide.
Our guide was waiting for the 4 of us (myself, my wife and 2 friends) at the pre-determined meeting point (easy to find). She was very friendly and articulate, and being English herself, there were no language issues.
Claire provided us with a clear understanding of events in the Netherlands prior to the Dutch Golden Age, which helped us to understand how and why the Dutch art and artists developed in such a way.
She had a thorough knowledge of the museum and its history, and the artwork on display, and freely answered all our questions. Due to limited time she selected specific highlights of the Dutch Golden Age as well as other exhibits to show us, and she explained their hidden messages and other details. Claire also explained how the styles of certain artists (notably Rembrandt) developed during their lifetimes.
The visit was conducted at a moderate pace and nobody felt rushed.
I cannot recommend this tour highly enough to anybody who has an interest in Dutch art.
